About Pandora

I graduated from the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading following three and a half years of training and use both Traditional Chinese Medicine and Five Element acupuncture in my practice. In 2005 I visited the Zhejiang College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Hangzhou, to study how acupuncture is practiced in China.

Before training as an acupuncturist I worked as a researcher in several medical schools throughout London and the South West, investigating patients’ experiences of conditions such as stroke, diabetes, cancer and arthritis.

I am a member of the British Acupuncture Council, am registered with Mendip District Council and Bath and North East Somerset Council as an acupuncturist and have full Professional Indemnity and Public/ Products Liability insurance cover for my practice.

 British Acupuncture Council

The British Acupuncture Council is the main regulatory body for acupuncturists in the UK. Acupuncturists registered with the British Acupuncture Council carry the letters MBAcC  after their name (Member of the British Acupuncture Council). Members have completed at least three years’ training in traditional acupuncture and the relevant biomedical sciences at a recognised institution. They abide by the British Acupuncture Council’s Codes of Safe Practice and Professional Conduct. They follow stringent standards of hygiene, use only sterile, disposable needles and comply with current health and safety legislation. Members are also required to update their skills by following a programme of continuing professional development.

Some private health insurance companies will contribute towards the cost of acupuncture provided the practitioner is a member of the British Acupuncture Council.

Patients who have been treated by a BAcC member are eligible to donate blood through the National Blood Service.
