Improving fertility with acupuncture
If you are charting your temperature, please bring your charts along to the first consultation as they will help with the diagnosis. Any test results will also be useful (including sperm analyses). Acupuncture can be safely used in conjunction with medication, e.g. Clomid.
IVF and acupuncture
Acupuncture is very popular as a treatment alongside IVF and many research studies suggest that it increases the changes of conception and live birth. Additionally, acupuncture is given at this time to reduce any adverse effects of the drug regimen as well as to lessen the stress often associated with IVF.

Acupuncture aims to enhance the body’s ability to manage
each stage of the menstrual cycle in order to improve the chances of
conception. Firstly, any irregularities in the menstrual cycle are
treated; these include pre-menstrual tension, period pain, clots in the
menstrual blood, or spotting. Additionally, if the period is too heavy,
too light, or non-existent, or if the cycle is too long or too short,
then treatment will focus on rectifying this. It can take several months
of weekly treatments to regularise the menstrual cycle.
